Re: Question to Mirapex users
I've been having PD symptoms since 2000. My Dr. first put me on Mirapex, along with Sinemet and selegeline. Mirapex made me so sleepy that I would have to crash in the middle of the afternoon, and I would sleep up to 2 hours. Then Dr. took me off Mirapex and put me on a very low dose of Requip, 2mg, 3 times a day, with the same set of other drugs. The drowziness ended. Now I am up to 7mg 3 times a day, and it seems to work well for me. As far as I understand, Requip is a neuro-receptor stimulator, like Mirapex. The one thing I can say about Requip is that, now that my dosage is higher, if I don't take it with food, I get stomach pain; not like I'm going to toss my cookies, more of a concentrated discomfort, specifically in the stomach. Haven't had any other side effects. And as long as I eat within an hour of taking Requip, I have no problem. Check out the info online and talk to your Dr. Hope this was the type of response you wanted. Enjoy!
