I wrote that I respected the lady's RIGHT to express her opinion, but I think I made it clear, and I intended to do so, that I had no respect for her OPINION on defense spending, specifically on missile defense, because her opinion defies logic.
yes don, you do have a right to your opinion. however, saying "...I am compelled to refute a misguided opinion ..." and "While I respect the nice lady's right to her opinion, I also feel I have a right to refute it with a modicum of common sense." does not simply state your opinion, it denounces the original writer as misguided and having no common sense. next time, please just state what you think without trashing the opinion you disagree with.
