I have tried all the US forms of sinemet; generic, regular and
the CR version.  The regular and generic produce identical relief
of my PD symptoms for the same length of time.  The CR version,
when I take several doses in sequence produces a feeling of an
awful heavy head.  I use the generic because it is so much cheaper
and is equally effective.  I say give it a trial and see how
you respond.
