Ask ur MD/doctor. Some herbs affect mechanisms in the body.
Many state how different we are from one another yet when we try
something it is because 'another person tried it why not?' belief.

Thanks Doug for your response.

It sounds like your mother and my father had similar experiences in slow
progression.

I will certainly try the ginger for dizziness. Did your mothers nuero
suggest that this is related to disease?

One of my symptoms is lightheated and dizziness.

Hi Shamus, My mother's neuro (movement disorders specialist) suggested that she try taking ginger (as ginger ale, ginger snaps, etc.) for her dizzy spells. He didn't cite any hard research on ginger's use for dizzyness, but said that its benefits in fighting nausea had been demonstrated and that there was some anecdotal evidence that it might help dizzyness as well. Mom started taking ginger tea every morning (about 1/2 cubic inch of ginger root sliced thin and brought to the boil in about 1 pint of water), and claimed it helped her dizzyness/lightheadedness.

Another interesting note is that my father was

diagnosed with

Parkinson when he was in his 40's (early onset) but

he is still

alive at 77. Some people say that is impossible

that he really

had the disease. He is alive at 77, still taking

sinemet but

is suffering dimentia.

Mom had symptoms at age 40 (diagnosis at 42), will be 73 next month, and is in good health (though she's bed/wheelchair bound now), so I wouldn't call your father's condition "impossible" :-)

My best to you both,
Doug
