Each person is different. I don't take PD meds,
but those who do claim
they can cut back on their dosage for all symptoms
after DBS. I do know for
pretty darn sure that DBS is usually very successful
for controlling
tremors. I
started considering it when I started getting
tremors on my right as well as
left side of my body. I don't know if I would have
had it done if I hadn't
gone bilateral. I always found tremor to be my
most disabling symptom.

I don't know if you mean does it help mild tremor.
I don't know if you
would want it done if the tremor was tolerable. The
surgeries sure helped
me, but some people get bad surgeries or
programmings. There is a DBS site
you can go to and ask questions. You have to go
back to it to get answers.
It is www.DBS-STN.org. I can only speak for myself.

Also age is apparently a factor in approving
candidates. I was 67 when I
had the surgeries..they didn't want people over 70.
I saw no point in
waiting.. If you have dementia they won't do it. It
is really a very
individual thing, as is PD itself.
