I'm wondering how much temperature malfunctions in stroke patients are similar to PD patients. After my Mom had her stroke she had horrible, terrifying hot, cold, and itching spells and nothing helped. I think it is why she opted for morphine patches at the end. Thank you for the information. Today is Christmas. I just read this and a later one about your family. Dick is sweating, falling, feeling like he can do nothing, my sciatic nerves are really acting up from lifting him and my family situation is similar to yours. We are really sick of going to drs. almost every day when little helps. Is Brig's bp low? The dr. poo poos the fluctuating blood pressure which is often low and has no idea about the sweats. This week Dick has been having one cold sweat after another and then during them shakes with cold and I dry him with a hot hair dryer. I also, like you, have not help and I know when I can't care for Dick any more, we will be bankrupt within a year. In NM, they leave us with so little money to pay bills when Medicaid kicks in after you have used up all your IRAs and other savings, meager as they are, providing for nursing care. Dick and I will be married 50 years in the spring.
God Bless! At least your health will be better and you will have some respite and more energy to share with your dear husband, Gerry. I wish you peace and courage. Elaine
