maybe it's a test to see if your neurotransmitters are working :)

Pass or fail the test the hospital and doctor fees remain the same.
functionality has no effect on remuneration. As Ray says "what a
racket", but it's all we've
got. So we play the game with the racket we are given.

ned

Yesterday I got the bill for the overnight hospital stay I had last July
3 to get new neurotransmitters. It was around $70,000!!!! -
approaching cost of the original DBS brain surgeries. There was almost a
$300 charge for "pharmacy" and I had NO medication except my blood
pressure pill I snuck in!!! Shocking!! The "bill" said I didn't have to
pay as Medicare would. The school district I taught for also provides me
with a secondary insurance. What a mess this country is in!!

Ray:

You can understand why it took from July 3rd until now to get the
"bill" straight, those are big numbers.
Do you think they will give you 5 months to ponder the statement ?

My attorney friend tells me that typically the hospital settles for
about 1/3 of the asking price with

Medicare. The reason they inflate the bill is to keep pressure on the
    secondary insurance company.

  What a mess indeed.

    Ned
