maybe it's a test to see if your neurotransmitters are working :)

Pass or fail the test the hospital and doctor fees remain the same.
functionality has no effect on remuneration. As Ray says "what a racket", but it's all we've got. So we play the game with the racket we are given.

Yesterday I got the bill for the overnight hospital stay I had last July 3 to get new neurotransmitters. It was around $70,000!!!! - approaching cost of the original DBS brain surgeries. There was almost a $300 charge for "pharmacy" and I had NO medication except my blood pressure pill I snuck in!!! Shocking!! The "bill" said I didn't have to pay as Medicare would. The school district I taught for also provides me with a secondary insurance. What a mess this country is in!!

You can understand why it took from July 3rd until now to get the "bill" straight, those are big numbers. Do you think they will give you 5 months to ponder the statement ?
My attorney friend tells me that typically the hospital settles for about 1/3 of the asking price with
Medicare. The reason they inflate the bill is to keep pressure on the secondary insurance company.
What a mess indeed.
